Jansson unlikely to start

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Pontus Jansson is unlikely to start the game with Ipswich Town tomorrow night.

The Swedish international’s wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl yesterday and Jansson will return to the group this evening. But Bielsa stated he was unlikely to start the game.

He also confirmed that Barry Douglas was not yet ready to return.

However, Pablo Hernandez is fit to start and Jack Harrison is also said to be fit.

Wilks contract

 

Leeds Live is reporting that the club are hoping to extend Mallik Wilks current deal at the club. They report an extension is likely to be offered to the player, who is out of contract in the summer.

His current loan boss Grant McCann has also confirmed to the Shields Gazette that he would like to keep the player until the end of the season. His current loan deal expires in the summer.

Pennington ready

Matthew Pennington is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces at Elland Road tomorrow night. The Everton loanee is now with Ipswich Town, following an injury-plagued spell at Leeds last term.

He told TWTD that he was hoping to see some ‘friendly faces’ but that he was going to West Yorkshire to do a job and put on a ‘coupon-buster’.
