Leeds United round-up: Brown injury, Bamford ‘belief’ and Saiz medical

Brown blow

Leeds United’s under-23s have lost their final game of 2018 to the side bottom of their league table. Barnsley won 2-0 thanks to goals from Amir Berkovits and Romal Palmer.

But the biggest concern from the game will be Izzy Brown’s withdrawal.

The Chelsea loanee has only recently recovered from a serious knee problem. In the 34th minute, Brown had to leave the game. YEP reported he was ‘pointing at his knee and hamstring’ before limping from the field.

Leeds fans will hope the injury is not serious as Brown awaits his first game for the senior side.

Bamford ‘belief’

Patrick Bamford, Leeds’ weekend hero against Bolton Wanderers, believes his side can now go on to win promotion to the Premier League.

The result at the weekend saw Leeds go top of the Championship. He stated that Adam Forshaw claimed Leeds would not have won the Bolton game 12 months ago and says the ‘belief’ at Leeds has changed under Marcelo Bielsa.

£6m Saiz

Samuel Saiz is believed to be undergoing a medical at Getafe today as Leeds United facilitate his move back to Spain.

The YEP suggests he will be joining on a loan deal as he seeks a return to Madrid for family reasons.

The report claims the deal will become permanent in the summer for £6 million.
