Barnes was wanted
Leeds United nearly signed Harvey Barnes, according to the YEP podcast. The 20-year-old attacker was reportedly ‘very close’ to joining Leeds on loan from Leicester City this summer.
However, the playmaker decided he wanted to join West Brom instead and be closer to home.
He has since gone on to thrive for the Baggies, scoring five goals and assisting three.

Jansson absent
Pontus Jansson has pulled out of the Swedish squad for the international break. The 27-year-old was set to feature against Russia and Slovakia for his nation this week. However, his partner is due to give birth and Sweden have allowed him to leave his international duty behind.
He has been replaced by Copenhagen defender Sotirios Papagiannopoulos.
Clarke praised
Leeds United’s under-23 boss Carlos Corberan has been speaking highly of recent first-team debutant Jack Clarke.
The 17-year-old attacker came on for his debut against Brentford at the weekend and impressed Leeds fans with his fearless display.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, the Spaniard stated that Clarke has ‘huge talent’ and that he will ensure he remains hard-working in his bid for regular first-team football.
