Bamford ‘needs time’
Marcelo Bielsa has given his pre-match press conference ahead of the weekend clash with Bolton Wanderers in the Championship. The Argentine confirmed that Tyler Roberts will come in for the injured Kemar Roofe.
He also had an update on the fitness of Barry Douglas. The Scot will play for the under-23s tomorrow, as reported by Leeds Live. He has been out with a calf injury.
Bielsa also spoke about Patrick Bamford. The striker has been struggling for consistency since returning from a knee injury. The Leeds boss stated the striker ‘needs time’ to recover his ‘best level’ but that he was making constant steps toward getting there.

Clarke update
Jack Clarke is steadily getting back into light training. As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post he is set to start light indoor training before starting light outdoor jogging next week.
The 18-year-old collapsed on the bench after playing the first half against Middlesbrough earlier this month. He was taken to hospital and has undergone ‘detailed analysis’. But he has been given the all-clear and it appears a virus caused his illness.
Clarke is not expected to return to full training for a ‘while longer’ as Leeds ensure he is back to his best.
Potter on James
Graham Potter says ‘progress’ is being made on a new deal for Daniel James at Swansea City. Speaking to Wales Online, the Swans boss stated that he was hopeful the Leeds United would extend his deal, which currently expires in 2020.
Leeds thought they had agreed a £10 million deal for the player on deadline day, as reported by The Telegraph, before their Championship rivals pulled the plug late on.
