Roberts called up
Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts is a surprise selection in the Ryan Giggs’ latest team selection for the Welsh national team.
The 19-year-old has received his first call-up to the senior side, with regular international Hal Robson-Kanu stepping aside and retiring as a consequence.
It is a shock call-up, considering Roberts has played just twice since his January move to Leeds from West Bromwich Albion.
Pontus Jansson has also been called up to international duty, set to feature v Austria and Turkey for Sweden.
Bielsa on loans
Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has been discussing the upcoming loan window closure. The deadline to sign players on loan in the Football League is Friday and many Leeds fans would like to see one more recruit, a centre-back, arrive.
Bielsa stated that if a deal came forward that benefited the team then Leeds would make it. However, he is also happy with the team he has got.
Finally, and Caleb Ekuban’s move to Trabzonspor has finally been confirmed. Both the Turkish side and Leeds have now made official statements about his loan departure to the Turkish Super Lig side.
He arrived in Turkey yesterday and the relevant paperwork has now been submitted.
The Italian striker has struggled to settle at Elland Road following his move from Chievo last summer.
