Luke’s new home

As expected, Luke Murphy has joined Bolton Wanderers. The midfielder left Leeds United by mutual consent yesterday after being told he had no future at the club. This news was slightly overshadowed by Ronaldo Vieira’s move to Sampdoria.

Murphy has now penned a deal with Championship rivals Bolton. The former Crewe man was once a regular at Leeds but spent the past 18 months on loan at Burton Albion after falling out-of-favour at Elland Road.

Long-gone Lonergan

Another player released by Leeds appears to be on the verge of finding a new club. Andy Lonergan was let go by Leeds this summer after an unsuccessful second spell at Elland Road.

According to the Shields Gazette, Lonergan is all set to sign a deal with Middlesbrough. He will likely act as a back-up at Riverside.

No longer Abel

If any Leeds United fans had not yet given up hope of signing Abel Hernandez, they can now. The West Yorkshire side held talks with the free agent after he left Hull City earlier this summer.

However, his wage demands were too high and Leeds gave up.

Hernandez originally failed a medical at CSKA Moscow, according to reports, but has now been unveiled by the Russian side.

Leeds recently signed Patrick Bamford instead.
