Leeds United round-up: Douglas bid accepted, Baker positive and Oxford boss complains

Douglas move likely

Leeds United have lodged a bid for Wolves left-back Barry Douglas. The Daily Mail reported the bid earlier today and now it appears that bid has been successful.

The Express and Star state the bid has been accepted, but do not mention a fee.

The 28-year-old has been seen as surplus to requirements in the Premier League, despite providing 14 assists in the Championship last term.

Leeds are in need of a new left-back after trouble filling the role last season and Douglas’ swashbuckling style fits in with Marcelo Bielsa’s philosophy.

Baker confident

Lewis Baker, who celebrated his first goal for the club in the 4-3 loss to Oxford United last night, has been discussing the upcoming season.

Leeds have so far looked slightly off the pace for the start of the campaign but the attacking midfielder is confident they are on the right path to be ready for their opening clash with Stoke City.

Robinson angry

Speaking of the friendly defeat with Oxford last night it has left the U’s manager Karl Robinson perturbed.

As reported by the Oxford Mail, the Oxford boss was not impressed with Leeds fielding a largely changed side.

Leeds fielded many under-23 players as Bielsa continues to rotate his teams in pre-season to get a full gauge of the task on hand.
