Leeds United round-up: Baker vow, Bielsa already wanted and Hugill interest

The latest news and gossip from Leeds United.

Baker desire

New Leeds signing Lewis Baker is hoping to score plenty of goals for his new club. He pointed to his time in Holland, where he scored 15 goals with Vitesse Arnhem and insisted he will be looking to ‘get goals’ for Leeds this season.

The England under-21 international has arrived at Leeds on a season-long loan deal after a similar spell Middlesbrough last year failed to erupt. He was speaking to the YEP where he clearly made his intention to be an attacker from central midfield.

Bielsa clause?

Leeds United have only just appointed Marcelo Bielsa as manager, so it is perhaps a credit to his coaching credibility that he is already being linked with another job. Futbol Argentino puts his name in the running for the Peru national team job.

Bielsa has previously managed the national teams of Argentina and Chile with varying levels of success.

Whilst Leeds fans will feel safe in the knowledge that Bielsa is not going, the report carries claims of an exit clause in his Leeds deal, which might be alarming news to some.

Hugs all round

Leeds want Jordan Hugill. The former Preston man only joined West Ham in January for £10 million.

However, the striker struggled in the Premier League and is looking to drop back down to the Championship.

The Sun reports Leeds are battling QPR for his signature.
