Ronaldo Vieira’s move from Leeds United to Sampdoria was confirmed on Friday, with the England youth international joining the Serie A side for a reported £6.2 million fee.
Vieira had been with Leeds since 2015, signing a professional contract with the Yorkshire club a year later.
Considered one of the brightest young talents in Europe, the midfielder was ranked the 20th best youth prospect under 20 years old in February.

He joins Sampdoria after making 71 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists during his time at Elland Road.
At just 20 years of age, Vieira has a long career ahead of him and many Leeds supporters were sad to see him leave the club.
The player, himself, seemed to express some regret about the situation on Twitter, while still assuring Leeds supporters they were the best fans in the world.
Leeds supporters were quick to thank the midfielder for his efforts at Elland Road and wish him well on his next chapter in Italy.

Other supporters turned their attention to the club’s transfer policy and critiqued what they saw as the constant sales of Leeds’ best young players.
In addition, the official club tweet drew questions from supporters, interpreted by some as overly terse and emotionless.

Despite the objections of much of the Leeds fanbase, Ronaldo Vieira will start a new stage in his career with Sampdoria in Serie A, becoming the latest young English player to ply his trade on the continent.
