Touchdown for Radrizzani

The big news at Leeds United today is the partnership with San Francisco 49ers. As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani has sold a 10 percent share in the club to 49ers Enterprises, the investment group who own the NFL franchise the San Francisco 49ers.

The link-up will hopefully see the club receive a boost in funding, whilst they could also play games at the Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, which holds a max capacity of 68,500.

Leeds United fans should rightly get excited about the investment. Hopefully, it will see the club receive a boost in transfer funds in order to improve the squad ahead of next season.

It is also another sign that, behind the scenes, Radrizzani does appear to know what he is doing – even if results on the pitch are still not quite meeting the same standard.

Marriot price-tag

Apparent Leeds United target Jack Marriott’s transfer fee has been released. The Sun are reporting that Leeds will have to pay a fee in the region of £6.5 million to sign the player this summer.

The Peterborough United striker scored 33 goals last season and is a target for a number of clubs this summer. Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa are also said to be tracking the player this summer.

Leeds United are in desperate need of another goalscorer. They failed to adequately replace Chris Wood last summer, after his move to Burnley and it certainly left Leeds short up top.

So splashing out on Marriott might be the best option for Leeds to find goals ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

Klich returns

One man who will be playing for Leeds next season is Mateusz Klich. The Polish star arrived last summer from FC Twente but fell out of favour with Thomas Christiansen and struggled to get back into first-team contention.

He was then loaned out to FC Utrecht, where he had a good second half of last season.

Now, as reported by Interia, he has returned to Leeds where he will hope to impress this summer and push for first-team football next term.

Judging by his form in the second half of the most recent campaign, Leeds might have fared better in 2018 had they not decided to send the Polish international back to the Netherlands.

He could be like a new signing for the club this summer and will hopefully take his opportunity with both hands.
