Leeds United are currently sitting second in the Championship after an excellent start to the season under new manager Marcelo Bielsa.
There is, of course, some hope that Leeds can now finally push on and win promotion back to the Premier League.
If that did prove the case, Leeds could certainly be a force in the transfer market. With the savvy Andrea Radrizzani in charge, Victor Orta’s links across Europe, the lure of working with Bielsa and playing at a historic English club they would be a tough team to turn down.

So, with regards to potentially a higher calibre of player being linked with the club, would Iker Muniain be the perfect example in the summer.
“No (Bielsa is not as mad as people say). He is madder.”
There are several reasons why this hypothetical switch makes sense. Muniain is, first of all, out of contract in the summer. The 25-year-old also made his first real breakthrough as a player when Bielsa was manager at San Mames. Despite his own good form, Bilbao are also struggling. Winless in nine games, Athletic currently hover two points above the relegation zone.
Once labelled ‘the Spanish Messi’ for his brilliant dribbling ability and diminutive stature, Leeds United would surely be an interesting option given his links with Bielsa.
Leeds United should no doubt have a list of players on the go if Premier League football does become an eventuality. Muniain must be on it.
