Ezgjan Alioski has not had it easy at Leeds United since he joined the club in 2017. As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Macedonian international cost a fee in the region of £2 million. He arrived from Lugano in Switzerland and most Leeds fans responded with the same quizzical nature.
Who on earth was Alioski?
He quickly made his mark and he has since had a somewhat topsy-turvy career at Leeds. Undeniably committed and tenacious, he is also incredibly frustrating.

Leeds fans no doubt appreciate his efforts but feel he is wasteful in attack when playing from the right or the left.
But finally, 18 months after he joined the club, Leeds United might have found his best position.
Alioski thrived at left-back in the recent win over Derby County. Barry Douglas’ absence left a hole in the position and the Macedonian plugged it with aplomb.
Left-back suits his best characteristics and in Bielsa’s side his attacking instincts make perfect sense.
It is no surprise he came through the youth system at Young Boys as a left-back, It is clear just by watching how comfortable he is in the role.
Douglas remains the first-choice in the role but Leeds fans would be right to hope they see more of Alioski at left-back than on the wing in the future.
