Leeds United are interested in a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Helder Costa this summer. The Portuguese attacker has struggled at Wolves since their promotion to the Premier League.
As reported by the Express and Star last week, Wolves are interested in selling the player at the right price. Costa cost £13 million, according to the BBC, so Wolves are likely to want something in that region.
But the Yorkshire Evening Post has made one thing clear regarding Leeds’ Costa interest this week, it will not be a permanent deal.
The most recent report suggests Costa the ‘number one target’ for Leeds this summer. Andrea Radrizzani’s close links to the Wolves owners and agent Jorde Mendes might help a deal go ahead. The report claims the relationship between the two parties has thawed after a previous disagreement.

However, the report states a permanent deal for Costa is ‘out of the question.’ Leeds will be pursuing a loan.
Leeds United can clearly not afford the £13 million it would likely to take to sign Costa. So it remains to be seen whether Wolves hold out to try and sell their wing wizard elsewhere and recoup some of that fee.
Other clubs from around Europe are bound to be interested in Costa. With Mendes potentially pushing the transfer, the net of potential buyers is likely to be vast.
Leeds may have to play the waiting game. Wolves will rightly be looking to see if they can cash in on the player, rather than simply send him out on loan.
If no buyer is found, Leeds have a genuine chance of bringing Costa to Elland Road. But if someone is willing to pay the money for him, Leeds might find themselves swimming upstream.
