Jack Clarke to start: 2 changes Leeds United must make to beat Middlesbrough

Marcelo Bielsa knows his side must get back to winning ways this weekend.

Leeds United were comfortably beaten by Norwich City in last week’s six-pointer at the top of the Championship.

The Whites went down 3-1 at Elland Road, suffering a blow to their title hopes in the process.

Boro suffered an embarrassing defeat against Newport County in the FA Cup in the week and will be just as keen to respond.

Given Bielsa’s winning nature he will want to win the title and that will mean getting back on track tomorrow.

TBR Football looks at two players that must play this week if Leeds are to come out on top against Boro.

Jack Clarke

The 18-year-old Leeds winger was a surprise omission from the starting line-up as the Whites lost to Norwich.

Clarke has looked like a real star of the future this season; with Leeds generally looking a better side when he is on the pitch.

Bielsa clearly felt that he could get the job done without the young protege last week.

He would be extremely foolish to leave him out this weekend.

Patrick Bamford

Bamford not being included in last week’s team was less surprising considering he has just returned from injury.

The summer signing announced his arrival back to the team with a consolation goal, however, and will be pushing to start this weekend.

At 25-years-old Bamford is already one of the Championship’s most prolific strikers.

During his first spell at Boro his 19 goals helped Aitor Karanka’s team to the play-off final where they lost to Norwich.

A couple of failed Premier League spells have ensued, but there is a sense that he could get back to his best at Leeds.
