Leeds United defeated Stoke City 3-1 yesterday with a highly impressive performance against the Potters. But whilst the Whites first-team thrived, what about those loaned out by the club?
Here is how the Leeds United loanees got on this weekend…
Lewie Coyle – Fleetwood Town
Not an ideal opening weekend for the right-back. He deflected the cross which looped into the box for AFC Wimbledon’s winner in Joey Barton’s competitive managerial debut.
Subbed off after 67 minutes.
Pawel Cibicki – Molde
The Swedish forward wished Leeds well in their opening game of the season this weekend. He then helped Molde to a 2-2 draw with Lillestrom, getting an assist for Fredrik Aursnes’ goal.

Jay-Roy Grot – VVV Venlo
Missed the Dutch side’s final pre-season friendly win v Volendam through injury.
Tyler Denton – Peterborough United
The left-back was an unused substitute for Steve Evans’ side as they beat Bristol Rovers.
Paudie O’Connor – Blackpool
The Irishman helped the Seasiders to a 0-0 draw on opening weekend. Was excellent against Wycombe Wanderers’ striker Adebayo Akinfenwa and labelled ‘superb’ in the Blackpool Gazette.
Mallik Wilks – Doncaster Rovers
Perhaps the star of the weekend. The young striker scored an excellent goal as Doncaster defeated Southend United 3-2 at the weekend. Hopefully the first of many this season for the 19-year-old.

Alex Machuca – Burgos
Played in a 1-1 friendly draw with Numancia, which his side eventually lost on penalties.
Liam Kitching – Harrogate Town
Played in Harrogate’s National League opener with Sutton United, a team that not so long ago dumped Leeds out of the FA Cup.
The final score was 2-2 and Kitching felled Tom Bolarinwa to give Sutton the free-kick from which they scored their first goal.
Adrian Balboa – Badalona
No game this weekend for his Spanish side.
Hadi Sacko – Las Palmas
Made his debut for the Spanish side as they defeated Portuguese side Maritimo 1-0 in a pre-season friendly.
