Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi is set to be loaned out by the club this summer, which may interest Leeds United.

It was reported by Italian website TuttoB in March that Leeds, along with Arsenal, were keeping tabs on the Italian under-21 international who is having a fine season on loan at Serie B side Trapani.

Considering his agent dubbed him one of the ‘best young Italians ever’ in an interview with the same publication, Leeds fans took notice.

Now, according to Calciomercato, Carnasecchi is all set to be loaned out again next season with the plenty of teams in Italy’s second tier keen on the 19-year-old.

But Leeds United, as reported by Futaa, remain keen.

The 6ft 4ins talent is highly-rated in Italy with many expecting him to one day be a full international for the Italian national team.

Indeed, the player himself has admitted (as reported by GianlucaDiMarzio) to being ‘inspired’ by Gianluigi Buffon and there are definite similarities between the duo.

With Leeds’ current first-choice Kiko Casilla currently out of action because of a racial abuse charge and Ilan Meslier only on loan the goalkeeper situation at Elland Road does appear to be slightly up-in-the-air.

Carnasecchi might just be a name Leeds have to keep their eyes on in the summer.
