Leeds United have been linked with a move for St Gallen captain Silvan Hefti this summer. As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, the talented young defender has been looked at ahead of the summer transfer window.
Since then, the trail has gone cold. Indeed, Leeds are now being linked with a different defender in the form of Brighton star Ben White.
But Hefti is still a much sought after commodity. It appears Italian side Bologna are ready to make a move for the 21-year-old.
As reported by Corriere di Bologna, as relayed by Tutto Bologna Web, the Italian side are keen on the versatile defender this summer. They are reportedly working on a €2.5 million (£2.2 million) deal to bring the youngster to Italy, with Werder Bremen also in contention.
If that is the price-tag for the Swiss talent then Leeds should certainly consider acting on their previous interest.
Hefti is a top young talent with all the potential to become a Championship star and £2.2 million is a reasonable price in today’s market.
It will certainly be interesting to see if Leeds do come back in for the player this summer.
