Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion are the latest to show their interest in Leeds striker Kemar Roofe, according to Sky Sports.

The 26-year-old will be out of contract next summer and the Whites are left with a predicament on their hands.

Roofe was in red hot form for Marcelo Bielsa’s team last term. In 34 appearances he smashed 15 goals, leading Leeds to the Championship play-offs in the process.

Bielsa has already seen defender Pontus Jansson sold to Brentford this summer (BBC Sport) and the Whites’ boss would hate to see another star player flogged.

Palace and Brighton are both keen to bolster their own ranks and it remains to be seen whether either will come up with a concrete offer.

The report also suggests that several Championship clubs would be keen on Roofe should he become available.

TBR Verdict

Despite signing Helder Costa and Jack Harrison this summer, Leeds fans will be getting nervous with regards to their current stars.

Jansson has already departed, Jack Clarke has returned on loan after penning a permanent deal at Tottenham and clubs continue to monitor Kalvin Phillips.

Roofe is the striker that Bielsa should be building his team around and the club must do all they can to tie him down to a new deal.

Palace or Brighton are hardly likely to turn Roofe’s head a great deal, but if other clubs show interest it could spell disaster.

A nervy few weeks beckons for Leeds and their supporters.
