Leeds United supporters will still be heartbroken following their promotion ambitions cruelly curtailing on Wednesday evening. Derby’s 4-2 win at Elland Road gave them a 4-3 aggregate victory and consigned the Whites to another season in the second tier.
The Whites gave it everything during their second leg with the Rams. It just wasn’t enough though and it represents disappointment for everyone associated with the football club.
Leeds had a superb chance of automatic promotion and sat pretty in the top-two at the turn of the year. A poor run of disjointed performances, however, saw them settle for the play-offs and ultimately fail in their Premier League quest.

Various players have come out and spoken of their disappointment since the Rams ran riot in West Yorkshire. A lot of players have talked of a desire to bounce back and if the squad stays together they should challenge again next season.
Kemar Roofe has been a big miss for Leeds towards the back end of the season. A couple of niggling injuries meant some time out of the squad for the main talisman.
His 15 goals were a massive part of Leeds’ success this season and supporters will hope he returns for the next one.
The ex-Oxford man has taken to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the campaign, and ultimately the disappointment. We looked at the best reactions from Leeds fans in response to Roofe’s emotional post:
