It looks set to be a long summer for Leeds United as interest in their star players looks likely to intensify in the coming weeks.
The Whites were denied a shot at promotion by Derby County who defeated them in the semi-final of the play-offs.
That defeat could now have implications ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, with potential suitors likely to look towards signing their players.
The Telegraph are reporting that Kalvin Phillips is the subject of a £14 million bid from newly-promoted Aston Villa.
It seems unlikely that the Whites would sell for that amount but Dean Smith might be undeterred in his efforts to land the midfielder.
Phillips played 42 league fixtures under Marcelo Bielsa last season and was the heartbeat of his free-flowing attacking outfit.
His presence in the middle of the park allowed the attacking options to thrive and he would be a massive loss to the club.
Money talks, however. If Phillips can be sold for close to £20 million, it could be reinvested into Bielsa’s squad; leaving Leeds with a decision to make.
The club’s supporters are pretty unanimous in their stance on Phillips.
The vast majority don’t think £14 million is anywhere near enough to secure his services and have taken to Twitter to offer their thoughts.

If Harry Wilson is apparently worth £22 million, Kalvin is £30 million!

Genuinely wouldn’t sell him for 40m. He’s so key to the way we play. I’d like to laugh this off but this is leeds. We sell key players every transfer window. We must not sell Phillips.

If we are going to keep our players Radz needs to forget about adding to his £550 million fortune and sell to someone willing to keep our best players instead of going backwards every transfer period.

KP is the acid test for AR this summer. Do we really mean business or is it yet more of the same Emperor’s clothes?

What are they wanting to buy? His toe?

There's no way we'll sell Kalvin Phillips. He's integral to how we play, will become top class, and he loves the club. He'd be worth well over £30mill in this market. Why would he want to go to a bottom end prem team? #LUFC
