‘No thanks’: Leeds United fans don’t want club to sign Aston Villa ace James Chester

Leeds United will hope to make a better fist of winning promotion to the Premier League during the 2019/20 campaign.

The Whites missed out in the play-offs last season, losing to Derby County over a two-legged semi-final.

In order for Marcelo Bielsa to achieve his promotion ambition, some new players will probably arrive at Elland Road.

The Whites have already added Ben White and Helder Costa to their ranks but more could follow.

One man who could be on the shortlist is Aston Villa defender James Chester.

The Daily Star is reporting that the Whites could make a £7.5 million bid for the man who missed the back end of last season with a knee injury.

Chester has served Villa with distinction during his four-year association, proving a real leader of men.

It would seem that Leeds fans aren’t overly happy about this news, however, with plenty taking to Twitter to vent their fury.

The reaction of some is perhaps a surprise.

Chester is a proven Championship performer and after selling Pontus Jansson, Leeds definitely need another defender.

Here is a selection of what disgruntled Leeds fans were saying following the news that the Villa enforcer could well be on Bielsa’s radar this summer:
