Former Leeds United defender Tony Dorigo has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he expects Jack Harrison to have a big season during 2019/20.

The flying winger arrived back at Elland Road for a second loan spell at the club.

He made 37 league appearances during 2018/19 helping Leeds to the play-offs where they were defeated by Derby County.

Whites legend Dorigo believes the Manchester City man will have an even better time of things when the season gets underway this weekend.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “One player in particular I think will have a really good season is Jack Harrison.

“I thought he looked really sharp in both games that I saw and he’s certainly one of those that can aim for about 10 goals this season; that’d be a big improvement.

Harrison only netted four goals and registered three assists last season. Boss Marcelo Bielsa clearly rated his performances, however, choosing to re-sign him ahead of this season.

TBR Verdict

Dorigo could be right in backing Harrison for a successful campaign.

Playing regular during the last campaign will have done him the world of good.

At 22, there is still lots of time for him to continue developing and another successful loan stint could earn him a permanent move.

Harrison could thrive with a year’s Championship experience now under his belt and Leeds could see the very best of the winger this season.

With Helder Costa now competing with Jack Clarke and Harrison for a place on the flanks, the Manchester City man will know that he needs to step up to the mark.
