Leeds United hero Ian Harte shares his joy on Twitter as Jack Clarke makes his Tottenham debut

It has been a tough time for young winger Jack Clarke since he left Leeds United. Following a reported (Guardian) £11.5 million move to Tottenham Hotspur last June he was loaned back to Leeds but could not force his way into Marcelo Bielsa’s plans considering the limit on loan players in Championship matchday squads.

He was then moved out on loan to QPR in January in a deal which also failed to be majorly beneficial.

However, Leeds fans still clearly want the best for Clarke, who developed a strong bond with the fans for his often heroic displays during the 2018-19 campaign.

So Leeds fans were certainly delighted to see Clarke finally get his debut for Tottenham in last night’s Europa League win over LASK.

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

The youngster even came close to scoring, rifling a half-volley just wide of the Austrian side’s post.

It also had one former Leeds United hero showing his appreciation on Twitter for the moment.

Ian Harte, who has also acted as the agent for Clarke in his burgeoning career, was over the moon to see the youngster get his chance in the Tottenham first-team.

Leeds have developed plenty of top young talent over the years but it seemed that Clarke might be falling short following his move to North London.

However, the noises coming out of Tottenham are that Jose Mourinho has taken a shine to Clarke, who might now have a part to play in the club’s season – especially in the Europa League.

Leeds fans will undoubtedly be wishing the best for the teenage talent even if he is elsewhere.
