Leeds United fans respond to Liverpool midfielder’s tweet following promotion

Leeds United sealed promotion to the Premier League last night thanks to a Huddersfield Town win and fans have been reacting to a Tweet from their former player, James Milner.

Milner, who played for Leeds as a teenager the last time they were in the top-flight, took to his social media to congratulate his former club on getting back into the big time.

It was a nice touch from Milner, who is still loved by many at Elland Road.

Leeds’ promotion was sealed after they secured a 1-0 win over Barnsley themselves in midweek, while Emile Smith-Rowe’s late winner for the Terriers sealed the deal yesterday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men will be relishing the chance of PL football, then, and are expected to take a dip into the transfer market over the summer in a bid to strengthen.

Some Leeds fans, though, want Milner back at the club it seems. Indeed, a number of Whites supporters were quick to respond to the experienced Liverpool man, calling for his return to Yorkshire.
