Leeds United fans react to Ryan Woods transfer rumour

Leeds United are being linked with a move for Stoke City midfielder Ryan Woods. As reported by The Sun on Sunday (07/07/2019, pg 61) the midfielder is being eyed up as a potential replacement for Kalvin Phillips, who is wanted by Aston Villa. 

As reported by the Daily Mail this weekend, Woods has been made available for transfer at Stoke, with a £6 million valuation on his head. 

It is not the first time Leeds have been linked with Woods. Last year, the Yorkshire Evening Post suggested that Leeds had ‘shown interest’ in the then Brentford midfielder. Woods went on to join Stoke City.

Leeds United’s fans main concerns regarding this report revolve around the future of their midfield dynamo, Kalvin Phillips. 

Whilst many would like to see Woods added to the Leeds squad they want him to arrive to play alongside Phillips. 

If he is being targeted as a potential replacement, then fans are less than impressed by the idea. 

Overall, Leeds fans are seemingly open to Woods heading to Elland Road. But if it means Phillips is on the way out, it looks like a firm no from the West Yorkshire faithful…
