‘Best player on the pitch’: Some Leeds fans delighted by their player’s display for his country

Leeds United forward Rodrigo was in World Cup qualifying action for Spain on Thursday night.

The Whites ace came off the bench in the 57th minute of the Group B win over Greece in Athens.

Rodrigo weighed in with three efforts during his time on the pitch, including one which struck the woodwork.

The 30-year-old was overall very energetic and also made some good off-the-ball runs.

Rodrigo has sadly struggled for much of the season, but he has netted twice in three of his last Premier League games for Leeds.

And some Leeds fans hope a decent display for Spain could boost his confidence ahead of his Elland Road return:

Spain beat Greece courtesy of a Pablo Sarabia penalty in the first half, putting them on the brink of qualification for Qatar 2022.

La Roja are next in action on Sunday when they face Sweden in Seville.

Leeds then return to Premier League action when they travel to Tottenham next Sunday.
