Leeds United striker has missed out on the England squad for the upcoming international fixtures, but it is clear that the 27-year-old is indeed on Gareth Southgate’s radar.
The England manager has mentioned the player as one of those unfortunate to make the squad for games with Republic of Ireland, Belgium and Iceland in the absence of the injured Danny Ings.
For many, it seemed a straight toss up between both Bamford and Callum Wilson considering the pair’s excellent goal-scoring record so far this season.
However, that was not the case, with Southgate deciding to give Tammy Abraham a surprise call-up considering his relative lack of form and action.

So what do Leeds United fans think of the decision to overlook their star striker?
Most were understanding, with Bamford following up his incredible performance against Aston Villa with a poor one against Leicester City.
Others, however, could not believe that Bamford was overlooked for Abraham.
But many are fairly happy to see that Bamford is not joining up with the England team, especially after watching Kalvin Phillips struggling to adapt to play the perceived lesser style of football Southgate has England operating.
