Kalvin Phillips has been quoted by Leeds United’s Twitter account as saying that he is looking forward to the new campaign after the Championship fixtures were released – and Leeds fans reckon his comments suggest he is staying.
Leeds found out they will face Bristol City at Ashton Gate on August 4 – which is a Sunday afternoon kick-off – before taking on Nottingham Forest at home the weekend after.
Phillips, 23, has been strongly linked with a move to newly-promoted Aston Villa this summer, with the Telegraph claiming earlier this month that Villa were to test Leeds’ resolve for their midfielder with a £14million offer.
Speaking to media after the announcement of the 2019-20 fixtures, academy product Phillips stated that he is looking forward to new season with Leeds and is eager to pull the white jersey on once again.

Leeds are yet to make any signings though they have confirmed one exit, in the form of Paudie O’Connor who has joined Bradford City. The club are reportedly keen on Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and Ben White.
Leeds fans reacted to Phillips’ comments and believe that the midfielder is hinting to fans that he wants to remain at Elland Road this summer, rather than chancing his arm in the Premier League with Dean Smith’s side.
