Last summer, following the sale of Kemar Roofe to Anderlecht, Leeds United were in desperate need of another striker to challenge Patrick Bamford for the starting role at Elland Road.
In the end, they beat Championship rivals Bristol City to the signing of Eddie Nketiah, bringing the Arsenal youngster on loan for the season.
Things started with a bang, the 20-year-old scoring on his debut as Leeds beat Salford 3-0 in the EFL Cup. He went on to score four goals in his first six appearances for Leeds but nearly all of them came from the substitutes bench.
Despite his good scoring form, Nketiah could not get in front of Bamford in the starting XI, with Marcelo Bielsa a massive fan of the former Middlesbrough striker.

With that in mind, come January, Arsenal wanted him back. Initially planning to send him elsewhere, Nketiah impressed new boss Mikel Arteta and he has since been used in the Gunners first-team. Prior to the football season suspension, Nketiah had scored three goals in seven games for Arsenal.
It is clear that Nketiah is happy with his performances this season, scoring eight goals in total despite largely being used as a substitute.
If you include his five goals in three England under-21 internationals this term, his scoring record is even more impressive.
Nketiah is clearly proud of his work and took to Twitter to show off his goal-scoring antics this season, including those in a Leeds shirt.
It is fair to say that Leeds fans were more than happy to let him know he is still appreciated at Elland Road.
