Leeds United fans react on Twitter to Patrick Bamford’s display

Leeds United secured their first win since their return to the Premier League with a dramatic 4-3 victory over Fulham on Saturday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side picked up where they left off at Anfield on the opening day. They produced another remarkable fixture, and, at times, played some of the most entertaining football seen in the top flight so far.

A number of players have stood out in the first two games. But perhaps it would be fair to say that no one has silenced more of their doubters than Patrick Bamford.

The striker went into this season with many questioning whether he was going to be good enough at the highest level. However, he has responded superbly over the last week.

Bamford scored a brilliant goal against Liverpool. And plenty of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to laud his performance against Scott Parker’s side at Elland Road.

The 27-year-old won the penalty that allowed Leeds to go back in front after Fulham had briefly made the score 1-1 in the first-half.

He scored the Whites’ third with an excellent finish into the bottom corner. And he played a crucial role in Leeds’s fourth goal.

Bamford produced a superb turn of pace to get down the line and play the ball across the box for Helder Costa. The Portuguese took full advantage and found the roof of the net.

Many outsiders may have anticipated that Bamford would have been replaced by Rodrigo already by this stage. The Spain international looked to be an inspired signing for Bielsa’s men in the summer.

However, most Leeds fans are not at all surprised to see Bamford impress. The early signs suggest that Rodrigo is going to have to do something special to start ahead of the Englishman anytime soon.

Here is how some of the supporters reacted to Bamford’s display…
