A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Pascal Struijk’s performance as the Whites beat Burnley 1-0 at Elland Road on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side secured the three points after a battling performance. Patrick Bamford scored an early penalty. But Leeds came under plenty of pressure from the visitors.

The Whites rode their luck with some decisions, but they still needed to produce a colossal defensive display. And Struijk was at the heart of that as he came in for Liam Cooper.

The 21-year-old has not always had the easiest time in the top flight. But he looked assured as part of a back three with Kalvin Phillips and Luke Ayling.

Some of his passing was superb. And he dealt with the physicality from Burnley’s strikers exceptionally.

Admittedly, Chris Wood won more aerial duels than any other player on the pitch (via Whoscored). But Struijk was third behind the former Leeds striker and Illan Meslier.

Several Leeds fans on social media have lauded Struijk. They have insisted that he was a standout performer in the win. And a couple even suggested that they would like to see him keep his place once Cooper is back.

Here is how some of the supporters reacted to Struijk’s display in the hard-fought win…
