Leeds United fans would be forgiven for feeling that they may have one foot in next season’s Premier League – and that is largely down to the continued brilliance of Pablo Hernandez.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side faced Swansea City on Sunday looking to deal with the pressure from the chasing pack in the same way that they had dealt with it on Thursday when they thrashed Stoke City 5-0 at Elland Road.

It did however, appear that Leeds were heading for a frustrating point at the Liberty Stadium. With stoppage-time looming, the game was goalless and it appeared that neither was going to find a winner.
But then the ball fell to Hernandez inside the Swansea box. A slight deflection meant that the Spaniard had to take a touch to get the ball out of his feet.

But the playmaker then managed to guide the ball in off the post for the match-winner, understandably sparking wild celebration amongst the Leeds players.
Leeds still have work to do. But Hernandez has surely already written his name in club folklore for being arguably the greatest player the Whites have had since they were relegated from the Premier League in 2004.
Several fans have insisted that Hernandez has done enough to warrant a statue being built given what he has contributed since joining Leeds.
There is definitely a sense that no player deserved to score such a crucial goal more than the Spanish magician.
Here is what some of the supporters were saying about Hernandez following Sunday’s dramatic victory…
