A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Liam Cooper’s performance as the Whites secured a 1-1 draw against Manchester City in a pulsating game at Elland Road on Saturday.
It had initially appeared that it was going to be a long night for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. And the opening goal came about following a mistake from the Leeds captain.

However, Cooper was outstanding throughout the rest of the game as the Whites went on to earn a point against Pep Guardiola’s men.
As shown by Whoscored.com, Cooper made four successful challenges. Only Luke Ayling made more. He also made a staggering eight clearances, and three interceptions. Unsurprisingly, no player on either team made more.

The partnership between the Scot and Robin Koch appears to be developing as each game passes. The pair have conceded just one goal across the past two fixtures.
It is remarkable to look back at the time when Cooper could barely get into the Leeds team under Garry Monk. He was the clear third choice behind Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson.
Just a few years later, Cooper is now captaining a flying Leeds side in the Premier League. And like so many of the players already in the squad before Bielsa’s arrival, he has not looked out of place at all.
And plenty of supporters took to social media to laud the 29-year-old. He responded superbly after not clearing the ball before Raheem Sterling’s opener.
And several clearly felt that he went on to produce a man of the match performance.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to his display…
