He had made a number of appearances for Wigan Athletic’s first-team last season. And, as reported by Leeds Live, the Whites beat a number of Premier League rivals to land Gelhardt.

On paper, it would appear to be an extremely disappointing night for the 18-year-old. He saw his penalty saved as Leeds were beaten by the Potters in Mark Jackson’s first game in charge.

And plenty of supporters now seem confident that it may not be too long before the teenager gets the chance to make his first-team debut.

They are incredibly excited about his potential after his standout display. And they clearly feel that the deal to bring him in in the summer will quickly look like a masterstroke.
