A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ian Poveda’s display as the Whites’ under-23s beat Norwich City on Sunday.
Leeds became overwhelming favourites for the contest the moment the teams were announced. Kiko Casilla, Pascal Struijk, Pablo Hernandez, Raphinha and Tyler Roberts joined Poveda in dropping down from the first-team to get minutes for Mark Jackson’s side.

And it proved to be a successful afternoon for the home side. They beat Norwich 2-0 at Thorp Arch, with the senior stars all impressing.
It was Poveda who set Leeds on their way. He converted Roberts’s cross after some fine work from Hernandez. It was a composed finish from the winger, who waited for the ball to drop past two Norwich defenders.

After that, there were a number of incredibly encouraging signs. Poveda seems to be building a good understanding with the likes of Hernandez and Raphinha.
There were also flashes of sheer brilliance from the 20-year-old. He needed little encouragement to produce a moment of real skill to beat an opponent.
And following the game, plenty of supporters heaped praise on Poveda. It says a lot that the former Manchester City youngster stood out amongst the likes of Raphinha and Hernandez.
Poveda has been very impressive whenever he has got a chance for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. And with his display on Sunday, he has surely ensured that he will remain in contention for opportunities in the coming weeks.
