Leeds United fans react on Twitter to Ian Poveda’s cup display
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ian Poveda’s display as the Whites were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at Elland Road on Wednesday night.
Marcelo Bielsa made 11 changes for the tie with Hull City. The team included a number of first-team squad members, as well as a handful of the club’s bright prospects.

Poveda is one of those who appears to have a foot in both camps. He has been involved in Bielsa’s plans since arriving in January. But the 20-year-old is one of those who could have done with Leeds enjoying a lengthy run in the cup to provide him with plenty of game-time.
Unfortunately, that will not be the case, for the first-half of the campaign at least. Leeds were beaten on penalties. But in truth, not many of the club’s supporters were convinced that the Whites deserved to get that far anyway.

It was a tough night for the home side. But Poveda seemed to provide some of the supporters with one of the few bright points to look back upon.
It must be noted that his final ball was criticised by some. His crossing and decision-making was, at times, disappointing. But there is no question that there were flashes of brilliance from the winger.
‘Could be a gem’
Poveda produced some outstanding moments of skill that bamboozled Hull’s defenders. For much of the tie, it appeared that if Leeds were going to get back in the game, the opportunity would come from Poveda.
And following the game, plenty of supporters insisted that Poveda is one of the few players who can be content with their display.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to his performance…
Poveda was the one positive for me! Fast, direct & skillful. Could be a gem.

The team was too weak with 11 changes…before the game though Cooper, Koch and Phillips should have played…Roberts, Douglas and Alioski had poor games…stand out player was Poveda but his distribution was poor also 🤦🏾♂️
