Leeds United fans react on Twitter to EFL statement

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment after the EFL confirmed in a statement on their official website that their priority is to complete the current season.

There has been plenty of uncertainty surrounding what the coming weeks and months may look like. And Leeds fans have been amongst those desperately hoping that the campaign would not be voided.

The Whites sit seven points clear of the play-off places in the Championship. And their victory over Huddersfield Town before the season’s stoppage sent them back to the top of the table.

And while much of the uncertainty remains, it appears that Leeds have received a big boost on Wednesday.

The EFL have made a statement on their official website. And the most important aspect of the statement from a Leeds perspective is surely the EFL’s confirmation on what they hope will happen with the rest of the season.

They have confirmed that they will do all they can to make sure the current campaign is completed. And that, of course, means that Leeds have fresh hope that the season will not be written off.

And in response, plenty of fans have praised the organisation. The supporters have not had the best relationship with the EFL down the years, but that has been – probably temporarily – forgotten about with their promotion hopes receiving a lift.
