Plenty of Leeds United fans had mixed feelings after watching Chris Wood score at Old Trafford to help Burnley on their way to their first win at Manchester United since 1962.
Wednesday was not an easy day for the Elland Road faithful. The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Southampton rejected a third bid from the promotion-chasers for Che Adams.

And it was suggested by the Daily Echo that the Saints had been left bemused by Leeds’s attempts to land the striker with the club having no interest in letting him go.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side desperately need a new goalscorer this month. Eddie Nketiah was recalled by Arsenal at the start of the window, leaving Patrick Bamford as the one option within the senior squad.
The deadline is looming. And the latest bid for Adams may be alarming to many who believe that Leeds cannot afford to let the window shut without landing a new striker.

So you could understand the bittersweet feeling for Leeds supporters as they watched Wood score for the Clarets against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
It was a smart finish from the New Zealander as he found the back of the net on the turn. And it helped Sean Dyche’s men on their way to a famous 2-0 victory.
Some Leeds fans were obviously delighted to see Wood add to Solskjaer’s problems. The large majority of Old Trafford was empty by the time the final whistle went with the home fans baffled by what they have seen from their team lately.
But there were other Whites supporters expressing some disappointment. Wood was the last Leeds player to score more than 15 goals in a single season for the club.
Patrick Bamford is on 10 for the campaign – incidentally, the same number Wood now has at the level above – but the Englishman has come in for a lot of criticism lately after struggling in front of goal.
Wood scored 30 in all competitions when Leeds finished seventh in the Championship. And some have suggested that promotion would be a done deal this time around if they had the 28-year-old still leading the line.
Here is how some of the Leeds fans reacted to Wood’s goal against their rivals…
