West Bromwich Albion are reportedly closing in on the signing of Rotherham United defender Semi Ajayi after agreeing a £1.3million move for the 25-year-old defender – and Leeds fans have reacted to the price tag.
The Daily Mail have reported that six-time Nigeria international Ajayi is close to a move to Slaven Bilic’s West Brom, just hours after the Baggies completed an £8million move for Kenneth Zohore from Cardiff City.
Ajayi shone at centre-back and holding midfield for Rotherham last season, clocking up 49 appearances in all competitions for the Millers as they suffered relegation to League One. He scored eight goals.

There had been rumours surfacing on Twitter that Leeds United were interested in the signing of Ajayi, with the club likely to be after a ball-playing centre-back such as a player of Ajayi’s quality.
That is because the Whites have opted to offload Pontus Jansson to Brentford for a fee in the region of £5.5million. Ben White is the club’s only defensive signing this summer, but he is hardly seen as Jansson’s replacement.
Leeds fans reacted to the reported news that Ajayi could be on his way to the Hawthorns for a bargain fee of just £1.3million, and many Whites fans asked why their club are not interested in landing the Nigeria ace.
