Leeds United fans react as under-23 star Sam Greenwood returns from international duty injured

Leeds United fans have certainly been impressed by the form of young forward Sam Greenwood since his arrival at the club this summer.

Leeds snapped up the attacker from Arsenal and the 18-year-old has been in fine form for the under-23s since his arrival. The forward has scored five goals in four games, being awarded the PL2 player of the month for his displays but missed the clash with Reading under-23s yesterday.

The reason why was an injury that Greenwood picked up whilst on international duty with the England under-19s.

The teenager has picked up an ankle problem that could rule him out of action for up to four weeks and Leeds fans are certainly frustrated at the news.

Whilst Greenwood was not a current first-team squad member, although his form so far for the under-23s meant he was threatening to become one, it is just another injury problem Leeds have had to contend with following the international break.

The club captain Liam Cooper picked up a problem with Scotland whilst summer signing Diego Llorente was injured in training for Spain. Both are now out for a number of weeks with groin problems and Leeds fans are getting a bit fed up with their players returning from international duty with knocks.
