Leeds United have confirmed on their official website that midfielder Samu Saiz has today left Elland Road to join Spanish side Girona.
Saiz arrived under Thomas Christiansen, shone in his first year in a Whites shirt before starting last season in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans as a playmaker.
But he then slipped from the first team picture rapidly and went on loan to Getafe in January, leaving the country before the winter transfer window had even opened.
And now the 28-year-old has left for an apparently undisclosed fee and plenty of Leeds fans have had their say on Twitter.

Because Saiz was such an asset when he was at his best for Leeds, some supporters are gutted with how his time in Yorkshire has ended.
But others feel he was either overrated or too selfish and that Leeds are best off rid of him – and there’s little doubt he needed to leave this summer.
It’s tempting to wonder whether Saiz on top form could have helped Leeds get over the line in the promotion race last season.
But that wasn’t the case and the supporters are split between those who want to remember the good times he had, and others who can’t look beyond how he let the club down more recently.
