Leeds United’s season may be on hold for the time being, but what a season it has been so far. It appears the club is on course to finally achieve their Premier League promotion dream.
One of the key reasons for their success has been summer arrival, Ben White. The Brighton and Hove Albion loanee has been in sensational form, quickly becoming an Elland Road hero in the process.
If you were to criticise White’s abilities now, Leeds United fans would rightly put you right.

However, when it first emerged that Leeds were set to bring in the defender, plenty of Leeds fans were left disappointed.
Don’t believe it? Here are some examples.
And, in fairness to the Leeds faithful, rightly so.
White was an unknown who could not get into the Brighton first-team. The youngster had never played a game in the Championship and for many Leeds fans a more experienced centre-back was needed.
When the West Yorkshire side then went and sold Pontus Jansson to Brentford, the fear grew even more.
But White has been an absolute revelation at Leeds United. His ball=playing defensive style has suited Marcelo Bielsa’s philosophy perfectly and the Argentine and director of football Victor Orta deserve credit for unearthing this gem.
There is, after all, a reason why the likes of Chelsea and other Premier League giants have been linked with a potential £25 million summer move. Hopefully, when the season gets back underway, White can continue his sensational form and help Leeds into the top-flight.
