Leeds United fans do not want Carlos Corberan to leave the club this summer

Leeds United’s under-23 boss Carlos Corberan is wanted by Cultural Leonesa in Spain.

Leeds United might have a fight on their hands keeping hold of a key member of their current coaching staff this summer. It appears that under-23 boss Carlos Corberan is being targeted by Spanish side Cultural Leonesa to potentially become their new head coach.

As initially reported by Spanish journalist Angel Garcia on Twitter, the Yorkshire Evening Post has since confirmed interest in the highly-regarded boss. Leon Noticias have reported meetings between Corberan and the Spanish club with an agreement seemingly close.

Leeds United and Cultural have a link through board member Ivan Bravo and the Aspire Academy in Qatar, so it is certainly no surprise to see their name linked with Corberan.

But Leeds United fans clearly do not want to see this happen.

Corberan has worked wonders with the under-23 side. Last season they were sensational, winning a league and cup double. He also helped the likes of Jamie Shackleton, Jack Clarke, Aapo Halme and Kun Temenuzhkov all progress into the first-team picture this season.

Implementing a similar style to the one being used by Marcelo Bielsa in the Leeds first-team, Corberan has produced fantastic results.

With that in mind, many a Leeds United fan sees Corberan as the natural successor when Bielsa does eventually walk away from Elland Road.

Here is how fans have reacted to the news on Twitter…
