Leeds United fans are backing Ben White for England after recent internationals

England defeated Kosovo in their final European Championship qualifier last night. It was a comfortable 4-0 win for Gareth Southgate’s men, thanks to goals from Harry Winks, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount. 

However, it was not an entirely convincing display from the Three Lions, especially from Tyrone Mings. The Aston Villa defender struggled to handle Atdhe Nuhiu and looked uncomfortable in Pristina. Indeed, the centre-back positions appear to be England’s weakest. John Stones and Harry Maguire are error-prone whilst Michael Keane’s wretched form has seen him dropped from the squad completely. Luckily, young talents Fikayao Tomori and Joe Gomez look more than capable of stepping up. 

But Leeds United fans have an entirely different solution. Ben White has been in fantastic form for Leeds since arriving on loan from Brighton this summer. 

The ball-playing centre-back has comfortably slotted into the gaping hole left by Pontus Jansson’s Elland Road exit and immediately outperformed the Swedish international.

His excellent form at Leeds has not gone unnoticed. Liverpool and Manchester United have both been rumoured to be keeping tabs on the player after his impressive start to life in West Yorkshire. 

Leeds United fans clearly think it is now only a matter of time until White’s performances have caught the eye of Southgate…
