Leeds United supporters react to performance of Ezgjan Alioski following goal for Macedonia

Macedonia kicked off their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a superb 3-1 win over Latvia. Ezgjan Alioski opened the scoring before a brace from Elif Elmas completed the win.

The Macedonians have been in decent form recently, finishing top of their Nations Group table ahead of Armenia, Gibraltar, and Liechtenstein.

It was perhaps the performance of Alioski that caught the eye last night.

The Leeds United performer has scored seven goals and contributed five assists so far this season for the Whites.

After spending the first half of the season operating on the left-wing he has found himself filling in at left-back since the turn of the year.

It was a position in which he found himself again last night but that didn’t stop him scoring.

He opened his country’s fantastic win with an 11th-minute rocket and Leeds fans responded in earnest.

The Whites’ faithful took to Twitter to congratulate Alioski on his latest international performance.

Leeds are well in contention for automatic promotion this season and supporters are clearly happy with the form of the 27-year-old.
