Leeds United executive director Paul Bell has been discussing Kalvin Phillips this week. Speaking to fans in Perth, Australia, the subject of Phillips’ future quickly came up.
As reported by Leeds Live, Bell did not have much to say on that matter. He claims he has very little to do with player transfers.
But he did highlight his personal opinion regarding Phillips’ excellent season at Leeds in 2018-19.
“I’m not the best person to ask that…I don’t get involved in the football side, in terms of transfers.
“Clearly, I’m aware of all the interest in the paper and as Tony [Dorigo]’s rightly said, he’s been fantastic for us as a player over the last season.
“I think, personally, one of the most improved players alongside Liam [Cooper] over this last year.”
The form of Phillips, coupled with Leeds falling short of promotion, has seen him strongly linked with a potential exit from the club this summer.

Aston Villa are known to be extremely keen. As reported by The Sun, the newly-promoted side are said to be targeting Phillips this summer. However, the same report also suggests Leeds have put a £30 million price-tag on their midfield maestro.
The Mirror reported this week that Tottenham Hotspur are also planning another raid on Leeds. The Londoners have already secured the long-term future of Jack Clarke from Leeds this summer.
So hopefully Leeds can get Phillips tied down to a new deal as soon as possible. If not, the questions from Leeds fans will get less friendly.
