Leeds United will intensify their search for a striker in the coming weeks and they could hit the jackpot in the form of a Premier League outcast.
Andre Gray has been linked with a move to Elland Road, according to the Evening Standard. The Watford striker has fallen down the pecking order recently and would represent a quality addition.
The 28-year-old hasn’t featured a great deal under new boss Nigel Pearson. He could be allowed to leave on loan this month and that would be music to the ears of Leeds.

Gray signed for the Hornets in July 2017 for £18.5 million (BBC) and has proved decent when given a run of games in the team.
He has scored 23 Premier League goal during his career to go with 41 in 88 appearances playing Championship football.
Leeds currently have Patrick Bamford as their only senior striker and crave another one.
The Whites were beaten 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday last weekend and with the squad looking on the small side reinforcements are needed.
Gray would add some Championship know-how to a young squad and that would be a tremendous asset for Marcelo Bielsa.
Wages could be an issue for any club wanting to sign Gray. He is currently collecting £70,000-a-week from Watford, according to Spotrac.
Leeds are agonisingly close to promotion. Their football has been among the best in the Championship this season and they won’t want to let it slip as they did last year.
Advantage
Gray would hand them a possible edge over any of their promotion rivals and he could prove a really astute signing.

The beauty of landing the Watford would be his ability to play a number of striking roles.
He can lead the line on his own but is equally comfortable when it comes to playing as a two.
Leeds will face competition for Gray’s signature and they would be wise to act quickly on this one.
