Leeds United drew their first home game of the Championship campaign yesterday, with Nottingham Forest staging a snatch-and-grab performance at Elland Road. Lewis Grabban’s scrappy finish came completely against the run of play and Leeds will be disappointed not to have won the game.
One player who performed exceptionally well throughout the game was midfielder Kalvin Phillips. He also had to play most of the fixture on a yellow card tightrope.

The 23-year-old was booked for a strong challenge on Tiago Silva in the 28th minute. For over an hour, the Leeds talisman had to be careful with his challenges and managed to keep up his performance levels despite this handicap.
It was a display that Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa was very pleased with, as reported by Leeds Live.
“It was a great sign of maturity in Kalvin for him to play most of the match with a yellow card. He never took any risks to leave the pitch.”
Phillips was, of course, a wanted man in the summer and based on his first two performances this season he will be a key figure yet again for Leeds this term.
Leeds United fans will hope he can continue to demonstrate this level of maturity going forward, as the Whites hope to mount another promotion push this season.
