Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is the subject of interest from Aston Villa this summer, according to The Mirror.
The Villans are thought to have opened the bidding at £14 million, although Leeds will hold out for more than £20 million.
Dean Smith is in search of players to bolster his ranks following the club’s promotion the Premier League.
The boss has already been busy this summer. He has already signed Jota and Anwar El Ghazi, whilst a deal for Wesley Moraes is done provided he receives international clearance.
Phillips is a signing that would excite the Villa faithful.

Although he has only ever played in the Championship, his form last season indicated that he will definitely grace the Premier League at some point during his career.
He is also the perfect sort of midfielder for Smith’s style of play.
Jack Grealish and John McGinn provide the team with lots of energy. Both, however, are much better going forward and the impact they have doing that is based on the holding midfielder.
The Villa pair were instrumental last season alongside Conor Hourihane who completed Smith’s three-pronged midfield.

Next season against Premier League opposition Grealish and McGinn will likely play as a two; allowing for a defensive midfielder to protect the back four.
Phillips plays the deep-lying role exceptionally well and even at £20 million he would represent value for money.
The Leeds academy graduate is only 23 and taking everything into consideration he would be a class signing for Aston Villa.
