Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips in, Pablo Hernandez out: Leeds fans react to Championship Team of the Year

Leeds United are right in the mix when it comes to winning automatic promotion to the Premier League this season.

The Whites are third in the division and have eight games remaining to lay claim to a top two place.

Yesterday saw the renowned computer game Football Manager select their Team of the Year for the Championship.

Defender Liam Cooper and midfielder Kalvin Phillips were the only two Leeds player to make the grade.

League leaders Norwich City had three players, Sheffield United two, whilst Middlesbrough, Wigan, Hull, and Birmingham also had one entry each.

The team was announced as follows:

Perhaps the most surprising omission from a Leeds perspective is that of Pablo Hernandez.

The 33-year-old has been in fine form this season netting 10 goals and contributing 11 assists to the Whites’ season.

The team was voted for by the 24 managers of Championship clubs and clearly not enough fancied Hernandez to make the grade.
